80g registration refers to the certification of the income tax act which allows the ngo and charitable organizations to provide tax deductions to their donors. This registration increases the confidence of the donors and promotes further contributions by enabling the donors to get deductions on their contributions. The ngos should first be registered under 12a and comply with the requirements such as appropriate documentation and financial audit. It is done by filing Form 10a along with accompanying documents to the Income Tax Department, with a validity of 3 years and renewed after every 5 years which makes the process carry on with the tax benefits, improve credibility and encourage donations.
