Foxconn 955X7AA-8EKRS2 Motherboard @ TrustedReviews

"If you’re building a new system and are planning to use SATA drives then the 955X7AA has plenty on offer. On top of the four SATA devices that the Intel chipset offer there´s an additional Silicon Image controller that adds support for another four devices. In addition there’s dual Broadcom Gigabit Ethernet contollers — one on the PCI Express bus and one PCI bus — as well as FireWire 400 and FireWire 800 support. That’s not a bad set of features and the latest FireWire technology could be particularly useful if you need to shift a lot of large chunks of data using something like this external Maxtor FireWire 800 drive."

NEC ND-3540A 16x DVD±RW @ CDRLabs

"It shouldn´t be too surprising that what the ND-3540A does best is write DVD´s. When writing to DVD+R and DVD-R media at 16x, the drive took about 6 minutes to write an entire 4.7GB DVD. NEC´s new DVD writer also performed pretty well in our rewriting tests, turning in some impressive times with both DVD-RW and DVD+RW media. The ND-3540A held its own when writing to DVD+R DL and DVD-R DL media, but due to its Z-CLV writing method, it wasn´t as fast as some of the other drives we´ve tested."

Sony Network Walkman NW-HD5 Reviewed @ BIOS

"Sony´s Network Walkman NW-HD5 is one of the smallest 20GB hard diskdrive-based digital music players around. With its relatively lightaluminium body, credit-card-size dimensions and outstanding battery life, this ultra-compact model gives new meaning to the word high-capacityportable music. It has taken Sony a long time to get its head around digitalmusic, but with Rio recently pulling out of the market, it finally lookslike Apple has a worthy competitor that can hold its own in terms of bothfeatures and trendy branding. The Network Walkman NW-HD5 looks and soundsvery good, but it lacks an FM tuner, line-in recording, voice recording anda colour screen, and it comes with clunky Windows-only software. But despitethese shortcomings, it is easy to use and comes highly recommended."

Kingston HyperX DDR2 750MHz (KHX6000D2K2/1G) @ Bjorn3D

"With over 2,000 memory products in their portfolio, Kingston Technology can provide memory solutions for just about anyone´s needs. The company´s depth makes it easy to see why it is a leader in the memory market. The products in its extensive line-up cover everything from the basic, entry-level memory modules for system builders to the high-end, high-performance modules the PC enthusiast crowd has grown to love. Kingston´s high-end system memory products are given the HyperX brand. Of course, Kingston offers HyperX products featuring the latest memory technology, DDR2. DDR2 is supported on most of the recently released chipsets and will eventually supplant first generation DDR as the dominant memory type in the PC industry. It is an evolution of the DDR specification that features lower power consumption, higher speeds and better thermal performance. The main disadvantage of DDR2 right now is its CAS latencies are higher than those of comparable DDR modules, but it´s only a matter of time before DDR2´s CAS latencies reach parity with DDR´s."

Legion Hardware — (Thermalright V-1)

"The heatpipe design method has been used very effectively by Thermalright in the past and they know exactly how to use this technique. They have demonstrated this once again with the compact V-1 graphics card heatsink. As the V-1 demonstrated on a Radeon X800XL, it is not only able to keep this graphics card well within a safe operating temperature, it can achieve this at near silence."

"The setup and management is easy, the print server just works, the photo album just works, as does the web server. In fact, everything seems to just work."

Hitachi Deskstar 7K500 Hard Drive @ TrustedReviews

"Hitachi hasn’t been very subtle in the method that it’s used to achieve the landmark figure but instead has ganged up five platters and ten heads to achieve the 500GB, which tells us that each platter has a 100GB capacity. That’s a surprisingly low areal density when you consider that Samsung’s new SP2504C gets its 250GB capacity from a two platter/four head design. Hitachi has form in this respect as it released the five-platter 75GXP back in the days when it sold hard drives under the IBM brand and more recently it also used five platters in the 400GB 7K400."

Abit AL8 @ InsaneTek

"Our recent look with the AW8 left us rather satisfied. The little brother AL8 wasn´t quite the same experience. It´s a solid board no doubt, but it didn´t have anything to make it stand out from the crowd."

Sapphire Radeon X850XT Platinum Edition AGP Review @ TweakTown

"Today we´re looking at Sapphire´s X850XT PE, or Platinum Edition. Not only that, but we’ll be testing it in the AGP format since many of our readers have perfectly serviceable AGP motherboards and haven’t felt the dire need to move on to PCI-Express as yet. So kick up your heels and relax as we take a tour of the latest and greatest offering from ATI in the form of the X850XT and we’ll see how it compares to its smaller brother, the X800XT!"

Olympus Stylus 800 Review @ Designtechnica

"The Olympus Stylus was a legendary weather-resistant camera that quickly shed its 35mm film roots earlier this century to morph into a terrific little digicam. In the case of the Stylus 800, it’s a whopping 8-megapixel edition (the first was 3MP). Only topped by the new 9-megapixel Fuji E900 and E9000 as well as a soon-to-be-announced 10MP model from a famous company, it’s about as powerful a point-and-shoot camera as you can buy. I don’t know if we’re at a point of diminishing returns but I’ll always take more technological firepower when it’s available—especially when the price is right. With its 3x optical zoom, weather-resistant case, excellent image quality and extremely fast response, this is one of the best digital sub-$450 cameras available, especially for travelers and vacationers. Gainward Ultra 3500 PCX 7800 GTX Golden Sample: Single & SLI @ PureOverclock

"Gainward kindly supplied two 7800GTX Golden Sample cards to allow us to test the performance in an SLI configuration. That’s £800 worth of pixel pushing power staring back at ya! The Golden Sample moniker is only used for Gainward’s top of the range boards which are factory clocked with higher core and memory speeds. Make no mistake, pair two of these up and you’re sitting pretty for at least 2 years".

TweakPC Test: XFX GeForce 7800 GT Extreme Gamer — The GTX Killer?

"With the new an upcoming GeForce 7800 GT Extreme Gamer the company XFXstarts the attack on the 7800 GTX. Overclocked by the manufacturer and witha great gaming-bundle (eg. Far Cry) the card seems to be a delicacy to alloverclockers and gamers. A 7800 GT as a 7800 GTX Killer?"

EOC Jetart NP6600 Foldable Notebook Cooler Review

"Modern notebooks pack the same processing power as a desktop PC in only a fraction of the space. With components being packed so tightly together, heat buildup becomes a serious issue that designers have to contend with. Notebook coolers were designed as an attempt to aid in dissipating the large amounts of heat generated by notebooks. Jetart has taken the notebook cooler one step further with a portable "foldable" design, the NP6600."

Shuttle SD31P SD31P Barebone Dual Core Ready SFF PC Review at HardwareXL

"The Shuttle XPC Barebone SD31P is the worlds first Small Factor PC for Intel´s dual-core Pentium processors. Based on the Intel 945G chipset with ICH7-R, it supports both 64-bit and dual-core processors. Unfortunately we didn’t have a dual-core nor a 64-bit Intel processor to test the SD31P to its fullest potential. We used a Intel 540 for this review but in combination with a X850XT graphics card which makes this Shuttle a powerful fragbox ;-)"

Samsung YH-820 5Gb Digital MP3 Player Review @ Tweaknews.net

"With a little shopping online you will be able to easily find this product for around US$175-$200 in your area. For what this player offers, I wouldn´t deem that an unfair price at all. This product is much more than your average "turn it on and listen to music" MP3 player. In addition, for the same money you get an easy to use portable hard drive, voice recorder, MP3 encoder and a color photo viewer in one neat and tidy package."

[News]DFI nF4-DAGF Motherboard review @ Xtreme Resources

"The name DFI has been present in the market as a computer components manufacturer since the early eighties, the very time that the term ‘Home PC’ began to exist. Yet they were not well known in the enthusiast cycles until a couple of years ago, when they made a big move in the enthusiast/overclocker market and took the highest percentage of the AMD motherboard market aimed to enthusiasts by storm. Their Lanparty and Infinity motherboards set new standards for overclockers, tweakers and case modders. Today I have a different kind of motherboard from DFI, the nF4-DAGF, which is a very basic motherboard, focusing only on delivering the basics and good overclocking capability to the end user at a very aggressive price. Let us see what it can offer to enthusiasts (or want to be enthusiast) that also like to keep the best price/performance ratio possible for their systems."
