PS5 & Xbox Series X|S Launch to Record Sales - Worldwide Hardware Estimates for Nov 8-14 - Sales

Despite having a staggered launch over the course of two weeks the PlayStation 5 was the best-selling console with 1,483,910 consoles sold for the week ending November 14, according to VGChartz estimates.
The PS5 launched in North America, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and South Korea for this week. The PS5 had a bigger launch in North America, Australia, and New Zealand than its predecessor, the PS4, while it had a smaller launch in Japan, Singapore, and South Korea.
Microsoft launched its next-generation consoles, the Xbox Series X and S, in 40 countries worldwide for the week. The consoles sold a combined 1,345,386 units worldwide in its launch week. This is a bigger launch than the Xbox One, which sold 1.1 million units in its first week, and is the biggest launch in Xbox history.
The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S are expected to be severely supply constrained through at least early 2021 as any consoles that become available have been selling out in a matter of minutes.
The Nintendo Switch was the third best-selling console with sales of 722,176 consoles sold. This was followed by the PlayStation 4 with 116,301 units, the Xbox One with 45,288 units, and the Nintendo 3DS with 2,198 units.
Nintendo Switch sales compared to the same week a year ago are up 142,544 units (24.6%). The PlayStation 4 is down 211,809 units (-64.6%), the Xbox One is down 33,696 units (-42.7%), and the 3DS is down 18,027 units (-89.1%).

Both systems off to a great start.
Amazing week all around. PS5 and Series X had a pretty impressive launch and it is funny to see Switch putting up a fight so much on the launch week of two consoles. It will be a fun generation to look at.

So.. PS5 sold more in just 5 countries than Xbox Series X in the whole world and in 3 days less. Funny
Not really. Both could have sole lots more, if stock had been available. There were indications that Sony began console assembly earlier than Microsoft (likely due to Microsoft waiting for the full implementation of RDNA2), so it makes sense that they have more units available for sale.
Both consoles beat their predecessor's launch numbers, during a pandemic of all things. This goes to show that both MS, and Sony bent over backwards to try to supply as many units as they possibly could have.
Actually the pandemic has been great for anything gaming related.
Switch almost casually sells over half as much as the new consoles do on a record-breaking launch, wow!
PS5 might even outsell the PS4 if it keeps the Momentum
Switch sold more than PS5 in Asia, but it is listed on number 2?
I assume PS5 also sold the best in Europe but it's missing from that list. Is the PS5 estimate not ready yet?
